Anti-Counter
Anti-Counter is a work for flute, clarinet, two trumpets, trombone, and four percussionists. Each instrumental group is paired with a percussionist and a unique percussion setup and they are to be placed antiphonally around the stage if possible.
The work features a system of rotating motivic material through the different "pods" of instruments.
It was commissioned by the University of Alabama Contemporary Ensemble directed by Dr. Amir Zaheri as the first work in the composer-in-residence program.
